You can now lease a Ford F-150 Lightning for just $1 more than a Maverick this month

Although Ford’s all-electric F-150 Lightning is more than double the cost of a Maverick, lease prices are now nearly the same. You can lease a Ford F-150 Lightning for just $1 more a month than the entry-level Maverick.

Ford launched the F-150 Lightning, its first 100% electric pickup, in April 2022. The Lightning is a full-size EV pickup with up to 580 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque.

Ford calls the Lightning the “smartest, most innovative” F-150 ever built. After almost 50 years, Ford revived the Maverick name in 2021, a compact car sold in the ’70s, as its smallest pickup.

The Ford Maverick was launched as a smaller, more affordable alternative to the big trucks on the market.

However, with massive new incentives this month, you can lease a full-size Lightning electric pickup for just $1 more per month than the Maverick in select markets.

Ford’s 2024 Maverick XL starts at $28,015. According to online auto research firm CarsDirect, Maverick lease prices are estimated at $368 per month for 36 months in NY. With $2,989 due at signing, the effect cost totals $451 per month.

Why lease a Maverick when the Lightning is just $1 more

With $0 down, the 2023 F-150 Lightning Standard Range model is offered at just $452 per month, just $1 more than the Maverick. And that’s with the Lightning’s more than double starting price of $56,900.

Although it’s a 2023 model, at nearly the same monthly rate as the Maverick, the deal is hard to pass up. Ford is cutting the Lightning’s lease price with a $9,500 rebate factored in.
