Pharmacierge opens state-of-the-art Wimpole Street premises

Private e-prescription app and delivery services company Pharmacierge, has relocated to a 5,500ft2  dispensary on Wimpole Street, Central London.

The facility features a 30-foot multi-arm dispensing robot, the largest of its kind in the Harley Street Medical Area (HSMA).

The integration of machine learning (ML) driven robotic stock management allows staff to focus on complex tasks, enhancing efficiency and minimising medication wastage.

Backed by 85 leading private GPs and Consultants across all medical specialties, Pharmacierge’s expansion marks a significant milestone in its mission to become the pharmacy partner of choice for leading private practices, private hospitals and their patients.

The new premises, which extends the company’s operations to 8,000 ft2 —ten times the size of its original location in 2015—represent a substantial enhancement in capacity.

The ambitious project involved transforming two 18th-century Georgian properties into a streamlined clinical space, integrating cutting-edge software and pharmacy design. This transformation aims to revolutionise the private pharmacy pathway by combining advanced technology with traditional pharmacy values.

The facility includes areas dedicated to controlled, refrigerated, and biological medications.

The 30-foot multi-arm dispensing robot, equipped with ML-driven stock management, occupies one wing of the new premises.

This advanced automation system improves efficiency and ensures rapid availability of a wide range of medications. Pharmacierge currently serves a network of over 4,500 GP and consultant users.

Co-founder and CEO Edward Ungar said: “It’s exciting to see our talented team now equipped with cutting-edge robotics and machine learning technology to better manage our extensive formulary.

“This expansion allows us to scale the exceptional care our teams provide to our network of over 4,500 clinicians.”

Pharmacierge plans to extend the benefits of ‘ePrescribing-as-a-service’ to more private practitioners, hospitals, and private patient units (PPUs) throughout the UK.

Over 90 per cent of clinicians surveyed report that Pharmacierge ePrescribing saves their practice 5-15 minutes per prescription, reducing the need for multiple car journeys and pharmacy visits for patients.

Institutional benefits include centralised administration, real-time tracking, and simplified pre-op medication pathways.

Mark Kildea, Chief Executive at Howard de Walden Estate, said: “Pharmacierge exemplifies how technology-driven healthcare businesses can thrive in the Harley Street Medical Area.

“This expansion underscores the company’s rapid growth and its dedication to offering top-tier service to its expanding network of clinicians and patients.”
