Barts Health selects BadgerNet to transform paperless maternity services for families across East London

Barts Health NHS Trust is transforming maternity care for over 14,000 families annually by adopting BadgerNet as its digital maternity solution in a new five-year partnership.

As one of England’s largest NHS trusts, Barts Health serves a diverse East London population and has maternity services at three hospitals; Whipps Cross, Newham Hospital and The Royal London and it’s neighbouring areas.

This investment replaces a mix of digital and paper-based systems with specific digital records, links in with the existing Oracle Millennium system, and is part of the Trust’s ambition to provide more equitable, accessible and personalised care.

Expectant mothers and families will be able to access information in multiple languages and easy-read formats, promoting greater autonomy and understanding throughout the pregnancy and postnatal journey.

BadgerNet also supports the nationally recognised Birmingham Symptom-specific Obstetric Triage System (BSOTS), enabling improved responsiveness to urgent and emergency care for pregnant women across all three sites.

The rollout aligns with the ambitions of the Best Start in Life programme being driven by the North East London Integrated Care Board.
