ABHI US Accelerator announces three new sponsors for 2023

The Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) has announced three new sponsors for the sixth cohort of its flagship ABHI US Accelerator programme.

The sponsors will help the health tech companies define their market entry strategy and grow their business in the competitive US healthcare landscape.

The three sponsors are:

  • DAC Beachcroft (DACB) –a leading strategic, commercial and regulatory legal advisor to the UK’s health and social care sector.
  • Healthcare Innovation Consortium (HIC) – a digital health and social care agency. The Corporate Sponsor will be on hand to provide mentorship to UK companies.
  • Wilson Sonsini – a legal and business consulting firm that specialises in working with technology and life science companies.

Hamza Drabu, health partner at DAC Beachcroft, said:

“The ABHI US Accelerator offers an exciting opportunity to work and collaborate with medical device, diagnostic and digital health companies in the UK and the US, and to support them in their quest to transform the delivery of healthcare and outcomes for patients through technology.”

Hadleigh Stollar, Chief Executive Officer, at HIC, added:

“We are looking forward to connecting with like-minded companies who share our drive and passion about transforming healthcare through digital innovation.”

The ABHI US Accelerator Programme is a 12-month initiative designed to support UK health tech companies to access the US healthcare market.

The programme provides participants with mentorship and access to a network of industry experts to help them grow and succeed.

A leading group of companies from the world of health technology are taking part in this year’s cohort.

Together they constitute a diverse mix of medical device, diagnostics and digital health businesses, several of which are long-standing members of the programme, along with a host of new entrants.

The 2023 programme will run from January 2023 – December 2023.

Throughout the year, participants will enjoy exclusive week-long trade missions across the US, providing them with prime opportunities to engage with key stakeholders for their individual company objectives and present proven UK health tech to new clients.

The first mission for the new class of ABHI US Accelerator companies will take place in Austin, San Antonio and El Paso from February 26 – March 31, followed by visits to Tennessee, California, and Florida throughout the remainder of the year.

Paul Benton, Managing Director, International, said:

“We are thrilled to officially welcome on board DAC Beachcroft, Healthcare Innovation Consortium, and Wilson Sonsini as sponsors for the 2023 ABHI US Accelerator programme.

“Their support and expertise will be invaluable in helping our participating startups grow and succeed in the competitive US healthcare technology landscape.”
