The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust has opened an opportunity to procure a digital education management system.
A prior information notice details the organisation’s requirements for a digital education management system “to improve the tracking, reporting and development of our clinical workforce”. It adds that the system “will be required to access data from other primary systems within the organisation as well as keeping its own unique data sets, enabling the system to produce granular as well as global reports on workforce development”. Finally, the notice highlights the need for the procured system to allow the clinical workforce to track their own development “based on tasks, educational profiles and portfolios”.
Specific requirements for system environment, security, audit, reporting, general user environment and workforce development, are also set out in detail within the notice.
Under considerations for system environment, it states that the procured system should integrate into the trust’s existing Microsoft infrastructure, with internal SSO and external access for partner organisations. The system should also be secure and meet “all NHS secure standards”, as well as being web-based and responsive across desktop and mobile devices. Expectations include the ability to place individuals into groups to allow for group-based notifications; a “robust and detailed administrative rights and permissions control panel”; and an allowance for the recording and audit of all changes across automated, system user, and administrator levels.
In reporting, the trust is looking for a system with a “flexible tool” allowing the design of reporting templates, which can then be assigned automated or manual reporting and “allow for the frequency of the report to be run if automated”. It should also allow the delivery of automated reports to multiple recipients by email, for forecast reporting to take place based on certain data sets, and for data to be used from the trust’s LMS to report on staff compliance.
It is estimated that the contract notice will be published on 9 October 2023.
