North West London Acute Provider Collaborative appoints chief information officer across four trusts – htn

North West London Acute Provider Collaborative, made up of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare, London North West University Healthcare and The Hillingdon Hospitals, has announced that Robbie Cline will hold the position of chief information officer across the four trusts.

The collaborative previously had two joint CIOs in place, including Robbie who held the role of joint CIO for London North West University Healthcare and The Hillingdon Hospitals since 2020. Following a retirement announcement from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and Imperial College Healthcare’s Kevin Jarrold, the partnership has made the decision to move forwards with a single CIO “to further strengthen joined up working”.

Kevin Jarrold will be continuing as CIO for the North West London ICB for the remainder of the year.

London in the spotlight

Earlier this month HTN highlighted insight from Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust on the use of mixed reality technology at the trust to support patient consultations, enable immersive training for clinicians, and assist in preparations for some operations.

In June, we reported on the latest round of the CW Innovation Horizon Fellowship programme, designed to encourage staff across Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to share innovative project ideas around improving patient care and experience.

We previously reported on how Hillingdon Hospitals went live with its electronic patient record system last winter.

From North West London ICS, HTN looked into data on digital reach and access challenges; the North West London Acute Provider Collaborative’s strategy to 2027; and an interview from Clare Gallagher, the ICB’s project manager for social prescribing.

Taking a wider view of the capital, last week we explored the role of digital in recent board papers from NHS South West London, including “significant work” around bringing digital, workforce and estates together under a single infrastructure strategy, and updates on the finalised urgent and emergency care winter plan.

In other news from this month, we highlighted how the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Trust and University College London Hospitals are to collaborate on Epic’s EHR; plans from North London Mental Health Partnership to procure a digital local risk management and incident reporting system; the launch of preventative health tech company Neko Health in London; and the selection of 17 SMEs as part of DigitalHealth.London’s latest accelerator programme.
